Slight seconds mean that the piece has a small defect that does not affect its functionality and is merely cosmetic. The piece has been reduced in price to reflect this slight defect. In this case, the handle has twisted ever so slightly during firing but all aspects of the cup are functional.
Handmade on the wheel this coffee or tea cup fits under most coffee machines.
The cup measures approximately 7.4 cm wide, and 12.5 cm including handle, 5 cm tall and holds about 100 - 150 ml of liquid enough for espressos, macchiatos and cappuccinos (Italian size).
The cup was thrown on the wheel and fired in an electric kiln. Glazes are made in the studio and non toxic, food safe.
Food, dishwasher and microwave safe. Although hand wash is highly recommended.
These items are handmade and therefore do not possess the perfection and uniformity of industrially manufactured ceramic ware. But you will have the assurance of something made by hand and one-off.
